| As a community organization, St. Vincent’s Kitchen relies on over 600 volunteers each month to continue to provide meals to the homeless and needy in our area. Among these volunteers, we welcome and appreciate students from high school age and older to join us at any time of the year.
Because of the nature of our services, we make every effort to ensure the safety of our young volunteers and make their volunteering experience a positive and fulfilling one. Nevertheless, we ask that parents remind their children to be cautious and not to give out
any personal information to anyone but in particular to our patrons. Further to this, appropriate attire is of paramount importance when volunteering, not only for safety but also to discourage any inappropriate attention from our clients. No revealing clothing
should be worn and shoulders need to be covered. A closed, rubber-soled shoe needs to be worn. No sandals.
In addition, it is imperative that students under 16 be accompanied by a parent during their time of service here and that your child have a means of transportation to and from the Kitchen that is supervised.
If your child is under 18 years old, we ask you fill out a consent form prior to volunteering. This form will then be attached to the student’s Volunteer Time Sheet.
